The Char Dham Yatra covers four sacred destinations — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath — each holding immense spiritual significance. This soul-enriching journey takes you across the majestic landscapes of Uttarakhand, fondly known as “Devbhoomi” (Land of Gods). Feel a deep spiritual awakening as you visit the origins of India’s sacred rivers and the celestial abodes of revered deities. With World of Travels, experience faith, peace, and devotion in their purest form.
Char Dham Yatra Itinerary
This 10-day itinerary follows the traditional clockwise route, ensuring a truly spiritual and rewarding experience.
Day 1: Haridwar to Barkot
Your journey begins from Haridwar. We will travel to Barkot, a picturesque town that serves as the base for the Yamunotri pilgrimage. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains and rivers. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax.
Day 2: Barkot to Yamunotri & Back
Early in the morning, we’ll drive to Janki Chatti. From there, you will begin your 6km trek to the Yamunotri temple. You have the option to walk, hire a pony, or a doli (at your own cost). At the temple, take a dip in the warm waters of Surya Kund and offer prayers to Goddess Yamuna. Afterwards, trek back to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot for the night.
Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi
After breakfast, we will head to Uttarkashi, a town nestled on the banks of the Bhagirathi river. This city is considered a hub of pilgrimage and is home to the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple, which you will visit upon arrival. The evening is free to explore the town.
Day 4: Uttarkashi to Gangotri & Back
Today, we will take a day trip to Gangotri. The drive is through the stunning Harsil valley, known for its natural beauty. In Gangotri, you can take a holy dip in the sacred Bhagirathi river and perform darshan at the Gangotri temple. In the afternoon, we will drive back to Uttarkashi.
Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi
We’ll have a long but scenic drive to Guptkashi. The route follows the Mandakini river, and you’ll get to witness some breathtaking landscapes. Upon reaching Guptkashi, check into your hotel. You can visit the ancient Ardh Narishwar Temple in the evening.
Day 6: Guptkashi to Kedarnath
After an early breakfast, we’ll drive to Sonprayag or Gaurikund, the starting point of the Kedarnath trek. From there, you will trek approximately 16km to the Kedarnath temple. Ponies, palanquins, and helicopter services are available for this part of the journey at an extra cost. After reaching Kedarnath, check in to your accommodation and witness the evening aarti at the revered temple of Lord Shiva.
Day 7: Kedarnath to Guptkashi
Wake up early to participate in the morning Pooja at Kedarnath. After breakfast, trek back down to Sonprayag and then drive back to Guptkashi for your overnight stay.
Day 8: Guptkashi to Badrinath
Today’s journey takes us to the last and most important of the four dhams, Badrinath. We’ll pass through the holy town of Joshimath. Upon arrival in Badrinath, take a cleansing dip in the Tapt Kund (hot spring) and visit the magnificent Badrinath temple for darshan and the evening aarti.
Day 9: Badrinath to Rudraprayag
After a morning visit to the temple, we’ll begin our return journey. We’ll drive from Badrinath to Rudraprayag, a town situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. We will have a night halt here.
Day 10: Rudraprayag to Haridwar
On our final day, we will drive back to Haridwar. The journey is a chance to reflect on your incredible pilgrimage. We will drop you at the Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport, marking the end of your divine yatra.
